Join us for two online community sessions of our Antiracism and Allyship workshops.
If you've been looking for ways to be a good ally and be anti racist in the way you work, think and navigate the world then this workshop series is for you. These workshops are the perfect to develop your understanding of structural racism and your skills in challenging racism and oppression when you see it.
Workshop 1: What do you know about race & racism?
Date/Time: 5th March 9.30am - 1pm
This is an engaging and interactive session designed to develop literacy, empathy, and understanding of race-related issues and identities, and improve safety and support for people of colour in your organisation, movement or place of work. It is appropriate for a range of knowledge levels and experiences, and creates a safe environment for real conversations about race and racism.
Workshop 2: Allyship
Date/Time: 12th March 9.30am - 1pm
As a follow up to our What Do You Know About Race & Racism training, this workshop converts your newly developed understanding of race and racism into practical skills for meaningful allyship in your everyday life. Using a combination of group work, role play, and personal reflection, this workshop develops capacity for solidarity, accountability and empowered change. The session is strengths-based, future oriented, and focused on skills and strategies, to turn the talk into action.
If you are interested in attending but the pricing structure doesn't permit, we have some complimentary/discounted tickets available. Contact us at info@hue.org.au to discuss options.
Participants require a computer device, microphone and camera to participate in the online sessions. Some components of the workshop may not be supported on a mobile device.
