Position Title: Communications Intern
Location: So-called Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane (Remote working is possible)
Type: Internship, Paid
Remuneration: We offer a stipend to support costs during the internship and credit towards your university course.
Duration: is flexible depending on your course requirements and personal needs, but ideally two days a week across 5-6 months.
This is an identified role for people of colour or people with lived experience of racism. We strongly encourage applications from Bla(c)k applicants, and those with intersectional lived experiences.
About Hue: Hue is an organisation dedicated to providing anti-racism and anti-oppression training and consulting. Our mission is to empower individuals and organisations to create inclusive and equitable environments that champion diversity in all its forms. We offer a range of services, including workshops, consulting, and resources, aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of racism and promoting systemic change.
Position Summary: Hue is seeking a motivated Communications Intern to join our team and help implement our marketing strategy. This position is ideal for a university student who is interested in communications and marketing and has a strong understanding of racism in an Australian context, either through academic study or lived experience. The Communications Intern will assist in the development and execution of our communication strategies, helping to amplify our message and reach a wider audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation: Develop and curate engaging content for our website, social media platforms, newsletters, and other communication channels.
Social Media Management: Assist in managing and growing our social media presence, including creating posts, monitoring engagement, and analysing performance metric for our Instagram and LinkedIn.
Event Promotion: Support the promotion of our workshops, training sessions, and other events through various communication channels.
Research: Conduct research on available statistics and experiences of racism, current trends and issues related to racism and anti-oppression, and contribute to the development of materials.
Collaborative Projects: Work collaboratively with the Hue team on special projects and initiatives to enhance our outreach and impact.
Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the communications team as needed.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a university program, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
Strong understanding of racism and anti-racism work, with a preference for candidates who have lived experience of racism.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in social media platforms and digital communication tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Passion for social justice and commitment to the mission of Hue.
