This event will take place on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Eastern Kulin Nation. Country where art, storytelling, lore and community have been interwoven since time immemorial. We pay our respects and gratitude to Elders past and present.
RSVP: Paint & Eat while learning about your rights with Police
You’re invited to a community night of painting, eating and learning your rights with police!
Come along to enjoy some fun, low stakes creative practices (perfectionism is out, playing with colours and textures is in!), enjoy a delicious free feed with dinner cooked up by Frankie (they/them) from Qamar and chat with Idil (they/she) & Charlotte (they/she) from South-East Monash Legal Service, who will share their knowledge and answer questions about your rights with police (with an emphasis around organising and safety at protests).
This invitation is extended to everyone, but with an extra warm welcome to trans folks, people of colour, Jewish folks, and all those impacted by the recent police violence we saw against protestors in Naarm.
We know that education and strong joyful communities keep us way safer than cops, so come share a meal, and make some art and some friends!
