Facilitation Training EOI

Facilitation Training EOI

Thank you for your interest in our upcoming Facilitation Training Course.

Skillful facilitation requires deep presence, listening and emotional awareness. It brings together shared context and enhances existing ideas, skills and contributions to make space for collaborative decision making, creative problem solving and imaginative innovations.

Facilitation skills are useful and transferable to a range of workplace, organisational, community and social settings, from strategic planning at a board level, mobilising action groups, community consultation, navigating interpersonal conflict, brainstorming and development, community organising and so much more.

We are frequently told that our facilitators are the best: friendly and engaging, fostering psychological safety, encouraging full participation, moving tactfully through conflict, and ensuring diverse perspectives are harnessed for effective, actionable outcomes.

Our facilitation training aims to develop the skills you need to facilitate in whatever setting you are coming from. We facilitate with accessibility, safety and anti-oppression in mind.

Delivered across 5 × 3 hour sessions with many practice & assessment opportunities, you will leave the course with a certificate of completion to take back to your organisation or attach to your resume.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Develop key facilitation and presentation skills such as: opening a space, acknowledgements of Country, presence and listening and reading the room.

  • Tips and tools to elevate your facilitation by using humour, personal stories and “ghost stories”

  • Build skills for navigating facilitation challenges such as: redirecting and reframing, navigating disagreements, challenging and pushing back and managing your energy and boundaries.

  • Critically reflect on one’s own facilitation and the spaces we create and how to learn from mistakes or know when to stop.

  • Navigation of tech tools for online facilitation.

  • Considerations and skills for co-facilitation and facilitating alone.

  • Safety and accessibility considerations for yourself and participants.

““What a fantastic session! Several of us agreed it was the best we’ve attended, and the facilitator was the most impactful I’ve experienced. It was incredibly thought-provoking, with great discussion—I’ll be taking these learnings and reflections with me into the future.””
